You aren't limited to just this domain name. You can choose a new one and add it to your site. You will need to register it using any number of companies authorized to register domain names, such as GoDaddy . *net*Adventist uses GoDaddy as our principal domain name registrar partner. Having a shorter URL is one of the main reasons people choose a custom domain name. For example, www.caldwellsda.com is easier to remember than caldwellchurch.netadventist.org. Another reason for choosing a custom domain name is if you want more than one URL pointing to your site, such as caldwellsda.com, caldwellsda.org, and caldwellsda.net. You can easily add any number of domain names to your *net*Adventist site (provided they are available through a domain name registrar). If you already have a registered domain name and want to use it with your * net*Adventist site, you can do that to. You will need to set the nameservers to *net*Adventist's nameservers. This is very easy to do. Just contact the company you have registered your domain with and ask them to change the nameservers. You might even be able to do it yourself. Most registrars set up an account for your domain name where you can log in and set the nameservers through a Web interface. If you are in doubt, contact your domain name registrar. If you are wondering what nameservers are, they convert domain names into appropriate IP addresses and vice versa. That's why once you have registered your domain name you will need to set its nameservers to *net*Adventist's nameservers. Here is the information you will need to set the nameservers to *net*Adventist's nameservers: Primary: ns1.tagnet.org 69.80.197.67 Secondary: web2.tagnet.org 192.156.214.167 Tertiary: ns2.tagnet.org 69.80.197.70 Once you have set the nameservers, give us a call at 1-800-9-TAGnet. You will need to give us your current site name as well as the new domain name you want to add. That's it. We do the rest. Perhaps the simplest choice you can make is to keep longer copy or content to a single column. In other words, keep the copy sequential in a single, vertical copy. This may sound obvious, but on many sites the core information a reader wants to find is spread across two or more columns. This just makes life harder for the reader. Keep it simple. Next, make sure you keep your column width reasonably narrow. The wider the column width, the harder it is for the human eye to track from the end of one line to the beginning of the next. Make sure you use plenty of subheads. This is important for visitors who want to scan a page before committing to reading it. Subheads give them an outline of what you are talking about. Your subheads should guide the reader through the key points of your "story", and should also convey strong benefits. Indent key elements in the copy. This helps add emphasis where it is needed, and break up what might otherwise seem to be a scary block of text. The longer your copy on a page, the more important it is to use subheads and indents. The last thing you want to convey is that your copy is going to be hard work to read. Basically, however long the copy is, you want to convey, visually, that it's going to be an easy, effortless read. If the page looks like "hard work", a lot of visitors won't even bother to read the first paragraph. Formatting is essential to increasing the performance of long copy pages. *Feel free to send us other resources or articles you'd like to see.* [image: FAQs] *Can I use VOB file formats for videos on my netAdventist site?* The best video file formats for your site are Flash (FLV) or Windows Media Video (WMV). We don't recommend using VOB file formats. There are many free file converters available on the Web for converting your VOB files in FLV or WMV files. Once you've set-up your Prayer Request Module people will be able to submit prayer requests through your Web site. They can choose whether to have the prayer request privately sent to the pastor and church staff, to have it appear on the site for others to view, or for it to be automatically sent to everyone subscribed to the prayer chain. You can find your Prayer Request Module under the Messaging tab in the Dashboard. Once you click on the Messaging tab, additional tabs will appear. Click on the tab that says Prayer Request. To configure your Prayer Request Module, click on the white button titled Configure Prayer Request. Several fields will appear for you to fill-in, including an introduction for your Prayer Request page, directions for the Request Form, and a Confirmation Message, as well as a place to enter the email addresses of everyone on the prayer chain. Once you have configured your Prayer Request Module, visitors and members will be able to submit prayer requests and receive them if they are on the prayer chain list. As the Web master, you will be able to view and approve these requests before they are published on your site or distributed to your prayer chain. How do I get it to do that?* To format content into columns you have to create a Table. You can do this by clicking on the Table Icon in your Static Content screen. When your mouse goes over the Table Icon it will say Edit/Insert Table. From there you can select how many columns (and rows) you want, as well as whether you want a border and how wide or tall you want your columns or rows to be. The most important thing is to keep your Table under 600 pixels wide (300 pixels each for two columns) so that is doesn't realign your site's layout. You will need to set the individual width of the columns as well as the Table width in order to keep the columns even. *To submit a question for the FAQs column, email us.
